The exhibition “Archives in Residency: Forum Queeres Archiv München” at the Haus der Kunst was closed with a finissage on August 4.
The welcoming speech was held jointly by Linda Strehl, board member of the Forum, and Sabine Brantl, curator at the Haus der Kunst. The artistic part was by Philipp Gufler and Johanna Gonschorek with their performance “Cockatoo Archive”.
Paying tribute to the Forum, their reading focused on historical figures as well as current actors in an encounter beyond chronology. These figures are not simply quoted, but rather closely joined in their attitudes and actions. Time and again, they seem to merge with “Jäcki,” the protagonist in Philipp Gufler’s novel: “Jäcki feels as if he exists multiply. He feels like a hollow form, perceiving itself from the outside.”
Many thanks again to the Haus der Kunst for presenting our archive in this unique setting and thus making it visible to the general public.
