Join us!
We are always happy to hear from new people who are interested in volunteering with us. There are many possibilities to work with us:
- The newspaper archive: Our extensive collection of newspaper clippings on LGBTIQ* issues is growing and needs assistance with indexing and organizing.
- The photo archive: Larger stocks of photos (files and prints) have not yet been viewed and require systematic indexing.
- Maintain our website and add new content: You can write biographies, contribute to the chronicle of Munich’s LGBTIQ* history or develop and implement new concepts and ideas for virtual exhibitions.
- Add to our collections: We would like to keep our archive up to date in the long term and close existing gaps. You can participate in the completion of our journal collection, acquire bequests and “Vorlässe” or maintain contacts with Munich’s LGBTIQ* institutions and secure their materials.
- Help with events: You can support us at our events and activities, e.g. help to run our booth at the Gay Pride, help to set up and take down at events and look after book tables or help to organize and lead city tours.
- Cataloguing and digitizing collections: Many materials in our archives have not yet been extensively reviewed and/or accessed online. Help to index and digitize our collections.
- Evaluate biographical interviews: We have an extensive collection of audio interviews with LGBTIQ* witnesses, some of which has not yet been processed.
- Research the archive: If you would like to do research on specific topics or work out a special topic in the field of LGBTIQ* history, or if you yourself have ideas for lectures, readings, exhibitions, or cooperative events that you would like to hold under the organizational umbrella of the Forum, we are here to help you as much as possible with advice, action, and material.
