Philipp Gufler’s t-shirt features Paul Hoecker’s cover illustration for the 1906 issue of Jugend magazine and can be ordered from our shop.
T-shirts in support of the Paul Hoecker Research Group at the Forum Queeres Archiv München. Since October 2019, the group has been researching the life and work of Paul Hoecker (1854–1910) and gathering further information on the scandal surrounding the Madonna painting of 1898.

The T-shirts are printed by the artist Philipp Gufler, who, together with Stefan Gruhne, Nicholas Maniu and Christina Spachtholz, is a member of the voluntary research group. As the T-shirts are screen-printed by hand, the colour and print may vary.

The T-shirt features Paul Hoecker’s cover design for the magazine Jugend. His class at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich produced a number of notable artists, including almost all the Scholler painters as well as the majority of the illustrators for the magazines Jugend and Simplicissimus.
In May 2026, the research group also published Splitter 19: Traces of Paul to mark the exhibition Imitationen von Paul by Philipp Gufler at Galerie BQ in Berlin.
